Clean Skin Clean Mind
Okay, we're hairless - what do we have to groom, you might ask?
One problem I find is that the sebum our heads produce don't have any hair to coat so we end up with a shiny sheen happening on the tops or our heads.
The best way to deal with this is to use a mild soap and a damp cloth. I find myself washing my head at least two or three times a day just to keep myself feeling like I have greasy hair ;) lol.
In public bathrooms I just use the hand soap, douse my head with warm water, wipe it off and dry off either with the hand blow dryers (you can turn the nozzle up and just wipe the excess water with your hands) or just grab a handful of towels and we're good to go.
How easy and fast is that? No more brushes or combs or gels to deal with!
Baseball Caps and Bandanas
I find my baseball caps tend to get a dark tinge to them with this sebum factory. Throwing them in the washing machine is how a friend of mine told me to wash them but I keep thinking how that cardboard in them might frazzle or warp in the dryer but he swears you just let them air dry and they retain their regular shape. I haven't tried that yet - I usually just buy a new one every couple of months...
Bandanas aren't a problem at al either. They're great for keeping our heads from burning in the sun, they are great for wiping off a sweaty brow and we just chuck them in the wash with the rest of our clothes and that's it - no muss, no fuss. i usually have an extra one in my pack or in my back pocket, so if any of you see me and need an extra one don't be afraid to ask!
Anything for a fellow alopecian!
Do we still have that bandana and baseball cap exchange program going on?
