Living Life Alopecian Style!

Relieve Your Stress
Alopecia is said to be triggered by a stressful environment or situation that causes the body's immune system to attack the human body when no other immediate threat (such as infection or a flu virus, etc) is present. In our case, it attacks hair cells.
But all humans deal with stress. So learn to center yourself, learn to control your emotional outbursts, learn to control your irrational behaviour. Learn to be aware of your body, your mind and your environment. When you can step out of yourself and see how you personally deal with life's challenges, you are one step closer towards changing your human conditioning and eventually getting better results out of life.
Where to Begin
Begin by removing clutter. The easiest way to peace of mind is with peace in your environment. Take a look around your home. Do you have unfinished projects laying around? Do you keep stacks of "things to do" on your desk, on the floor or hiding in a closet? These are all potential stress triggers - in the back of your mind you have thoughts of "Oh yeah, I forgot to do that, but I'm doing this right now so I'll get to that in a bit." That is part of stress. If you don't really want to complete it, throw it out or donate it to someone who will appreciate the item.
Take a good look around and ask yourself what you really use on a daily basis, what you enjoy seeing on a daily basis and what you think you can do away with. Clean your house. Make your home easier to live in and you will have a clearer perspective of your life and what you enjoy. This makes for a less stressful environment and your mind will be more at ease when you go about your daily activities. Edit your life. Give stuff that you don't need to the Salvation Army or some other local charity in your area. a quick packing of boxes and a phone call can make a great difference not only in your own life but in the life of another person!
Clear Mind, Clean Spirit
Look into meditation as a means of helping focus your thoughts, focus your mind and bring a better sense of well being to yourself. There are many resources available online, wether you want to look into Yoga, Buddhism, Taoism or other sources of relaxation techniques. Sometimes it can be as simple as purchasing an aquarium and watching fish swim, other times it can be as simple as pouring sand into a wooden tray, placing rocks in it and creating your own mini Zen garden for your coffee table. Some people enjoy lighting candles and basking in their glow, to add a mood of relaxation to the room.
Meditation is simply taking the time to reflect on your inner self, on your body and relieving built up tension by slowing down your actions and relaxing in pleasant thought.
The more time you take to be at peace with yourself, the better you will feel in facing the little challenges that sometimes rear up in life.
Take stock of where you are, where you want to go and the actions it will take to get your goals accomplished. You don't have to abstain from life to live - just take the time once in a while to slow down, center yourself, breathe deeply and once relaxed, go forth with a bright new outlook!
And have a groovy day!
A Zen Tray
If you can't find one, make one out of a small piece of plywood, with some edging. Then fill with sand, add some rocks or twigs - maybe even a real banzai! But it makes a great table piece and you can rake the sand into cool designs every once in a while.
Cool Art Project
Using a good parchment paper, write out all that you are thankful for - or use fonts on your computer and print them out on the paper of your choice.
Wrapping the paper (cutting to size) around a glass cylinder, add a candle inside and help your thoughts burn brighter!
