Living Life Alopecian Style!
A few weeks later Ken goes back to his barber. Ken showed him another smooth patch of hair that had appeared near his other spot.
"You must have done something wrong," Ken told the barber. "I think maybe you must have done something wrong because my hair has fallen out in another place."
The hair stylist took a closer look and told Ken, "I think you have Alopecia. I think you should go and see your doctor and he will tell you a little more, but I think you have what is known as Alopecia and your hair may begin to fall out."
Ken could not understand what his barber was telling him, so Ken went to see his doctor.
Ken's doctor explained to him that Alopecia was a condition where the body stopped growing hair in some places on his head, an immune condition that could eventually happen all over his body as well.
Ken's doctor didn't know much that about Alopecia so he referred Ken to a specialist, a dermatologist, who would know more about Ken's hair loss. The dermatologist was very busy so Ken made an appointment, and in the meantime Ken covered his patches with some mascara and eyeliner so the patches would be less noticeable to his friends.
Poor Ken, he didn't want his friends to find out about his alopecia yet, so he stopped going out for a little while, until he knew what was going to happen.
